Long ago powerful monsters with magical powers threated the existence of all sorcerers. The monster greatly outnumbered the sorcerers all hope seemed lost. Then one sorcerer discovered that it was possible to seal the away monster into cards. These sealing card became very important to sorcerers allowing them to kept a balance between them and the monsters.
